TeenAlive Launches One Week Computer Bootcamp.

Day One, and already they're computer whizzes in the making

TeenAlive officially launches a one-week Computer Bootcamp today August 12th 2026, for adolescent girls and boys aged 12 to 18 at the Buea head office, bringing together over 30 adolescents eager to learn.

The program, which will run for five days beginning today, is designed to equip young people with foundational digital skills ahead of the new academic year, as technology continues to shape how the world learns and works.

Day One marked an introduction to the basics of computing. Participants learned what a computer is, along with the names and functions of its parts, including the CPU, monitor, keyboard, and mouse. The day rounded up with a hands-on session on how to create, name, and save files.

The Programs Manager Mah Gizel reported high enthusiasm throughout the day, noting that many participants were having their first hands-on experience with a computer. “This is just the beginning,” she remarks “Over the next four days, these Adolescents will build the confidence and skills to thrive in a digital classroom.”

Participants were excited and quick to grasp how to handle the computers, forming new friendships with their peers as they learned side by side.

The bootcamp continues till Friday and is part of TeenAlive Association’s commitment to youth empowerment through technology.
