Three Months Art Project with Conflict Affected Adolescent Girls
TeenAlive is happy to announce the debut of a three months project titled:
Developing Resilience: Building Talent and Confidence in Conflict Affected Adolescent Girls through Creative Art and Lifeskills. This is in partnership with PenBoy for the months of; August, September and October.
Working with Children over the past Eleven months on the project: Protecting Conflict Affected Children, Adolescents and Teenage Mothers in the Northwest and Southwest regions, with funds from UNICEF-ECHO, gave birth to some sustainable safe spaces in various communities, amongst which are Missellele and Mile 14 in the Southwest Region.
These safe spaces over the past months has transformed the lives of adolescent girls, therefore creating the need for sustainability in these communities. TeenAlive in this regard saw a need to further help these young girls discover the talents embedded in them. This is in line with the theoretical life skills provided to them, which they are now putting it in practice, through art and spoken word Performance.
This practical project seeks to boost self Confidence, Self Esteem, Enhance Leadership Skills and groom young girls who think all hopes have been lost into Public speakers, so they can attain their full potential.
