Positive Parenting Training in Latie Alou, Lebialem Sub-Division
Following our continues intervention in hard to reach communities in the south west region of Cameroon to foster child protection , TeenAlive had an interactive positive parenting session with parents in the Latie village Alou, Lebialem division.
This session was heavily attended by parents, graced with the presence of the Chief of Latie, eager to learn for the welfare of their children. The Chief Expressed strong support to this initiative, thanking TeenAlive and our partners UNICEF and ECHO for the wonderful initiative, he also looks forward to the expansion of this training to other communities in the Lebialem division.
During the training session, the facilitators guided the parents through practical strategies and communication techniques designed to strengthen parent-child relationships. The program focused on building understanding, mutual respect and the importance of birth certificates for children.
It was quite striking that the training session was heavily attended by men in the Latie community, this gave the community Facilitator the opportunity to sensitive them on positive masculinity in order to create a safe space for women and girls to thrive.
Together with our partners, TeenAlive continues on the mission to create an environment where no child suffers from abuse, deprivation and neglect.
