Grooming Children through Life Skills in Grassroot Communities
TeenAlive Association is dedicated to empowering children in grassroots communities through life skills education, a priority that is fueled by UNICEF Cameroon and the European Commission for Humanitarian Aid.
Our recent Life Skill session in Wabane, at the Leteh Temporary Learning Space, exemplifies our commitment to Protecting Children in hard to reach communities.During this session, our community Facilitators successfully reached a total of 47 children, consisting of 28 girls and 19 boys, aged 7 to 9 years old.
The Life skills lessons are designed to equip these young learners of all age groups with essential life skills that will aid their personal development and enhance their ability to navigate the challenges they may face at home, in school and the community. The positive turnout and engaging participation of the children demonstrates the need for continued life skills education in the Lete community.
The Facilitators trained the children on how to Handle healthy and unhealthy disputes with peers during critical conversations. At the end of the lesson , the children showcased a mastery of the session following a positive question and answer session coordinated by the community Facilitator.
Moving forward, TeenAlive aims to expand sessions to include more feedback from children from each previous session.
With continued support from UNICEF Cameroon and the European Commission for Humanitarian Aid, we are committed to making a lasting impact on the lives of children in Wabane and beyond. Together, we can empower the next generation with the skills they need to thrive.
