Teenalive organised an in-house training for her Staff members and volunteers on Child Protection in Emergency with emphasis on Case Management from 7th-8th August 2022 to better prepare them for the UNICEF-TeenAlive ECHO Project in the communities of Liongo andTole.
The two days intensive training starting from 8am to 5pm each day, was facilitated by an expert, the Child Protection.
Taking into consideration that we are in an emergency context, participants were drilled on Child Protection in Emergencies, with focus on Child Protection Case Management. The presentation included the following:
The Different cases of children at risk such as child labor exploitation, abuse, violence etc.
The rights of a child
Intervention Strategies.
Case Management was then singled out and treated with a practical approach applied by the Facilitator. With field applicability, we learned the Case Management Principles and Case Management Process.
Another important rubric of the training was on communicating with children.
Practical Exercises were carried out to evaluate the assimilation of learners on the Case Management Strategy.
